Details

We are so excited that you will be joining us for our special day at Casa de los Bates. We know this is a big expense and commitment to travel to another country to spend the day with us, so best believe we will make it a day to remember.

This wedding will be a twist on most traditional weddings, as I’m sure you know we are far from traditional.

This will be a small wedding of under 30 guests comprised of family members, people we consider family members and very close friends.

On the day, you can expect to see many Spanish traditions hidden in the decor, as we want to show you all the many things about Spain that we love.

We will be having a late afternoon ceremony (full rundown of the day to follow in the next few weeks) starting around 3pm and the night will finish whenever you’ve all had enough alcohol.

Please RSVP by Saturday 1st July to help us with the final steps of planning. This will be the final confirmation of your attendance.

Please contact us on october@thesolefamily.com or 07393325626 if you have any questions or if anything changes after your RSVP.

Theme & Attire

Contrary to normal tradition, we encourage you to wear white and all derivatives such as beiges, creams, neutrals and light pastille colours to adapt to the warm weather. Patterned outfits with the already mentioned colours as primary colour are absolutely fine.

We discourage wearing dark and bold colours as primary colours, such as red, black, blue, green, and orange. Please do not wear denim.

As it’s going to be a warm day, please don’t feel you have to wear a full suit or anything like that, you’re more than welcome to wear shorts and short sleeve shirt if you wish.

Location

This stunning villa is the perfect blend of traditional Andalusian charm and modern elegance. We will be saying “I do” in the picturesque outdoor courtyard, surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil fountain, with reception to follow in the grand and elegant indoor spaces.

Not only is the venue breathtakingly beautiful, but it also offers a large terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with you against this stunning backdrop. We are thrilled to be able to host our special day at this venue and we can’t wait to share it with you.

A majority of people are staying at Playa Granada, Motril. We should be able to plan a coach to collect and drop off everyone at this venue, so you can drink until you cant drink anymore, and not worry about getting back home.

Should you wish to stay the night at the wedding venue, there are 5 rooms available at £120 for the night if you want them, just let us know on your RSVP and we will give them out on a first come first serve.

If you chose to drive to and from the venue, there is gated parking at the venue that you can use overnight, cars must be collected before 12pm on the 5th of October.

Q&A

Can I take photos of the ceremony?

No.

We’re paying a lot of money for professionals, whilst I’m sure your phones are good, it’s their job to take the photos, so leave them to it and enjoy the moment with us.

Do you have a wedding gift list?

No.

Your presence on the day is enough for us, we know it’s a big investment to come to another country for our wedding.

If you are desperate to spend money on us, we are saving up for a honeymoon so feel free to help if you want to.

How much do things like drinks cost at the venue?

Nothing.

We’re paying for everything on the day, so please, take full advantage, they certainly do with their pricing!

Can I bring my kids?

No, unless they were specifically invited. If you’re unsure, please reach out to us.

Can I bring a plus one?

All invites have been sent out to specific names, so unless your partner has specifically been invited, I’m afraid no additional invites will be extended. If you’re unsure, please reach out to us.

Is seating random?

Nope. The ceremony and dining will have allocated seating, this is just to make people’s (yours and the venues) lives a bit easier. The photographer at the venue is Spanish, so being able to know who’s who, and who is sitting where will help her, as your Spanish speaking is likely sh*t. (Can you tell who answered which question here…)

What attire should I wear?

It’s literally above the Q&A.

No bold & dark colours, no jeans, no wedding dresses (except for Libby.) Stick to pale & light colours and not a wedding dress and you’ll fit in just fine.

What if I'm late?

Just don’t be. It starts at 4:30 pm, calm your day drinking down for one day.
